Hey, I recently received my DC-ROMA RISC-V AI PC, RISC-V Mainboard II for which I purchased the "Basic / Standard" which comes in the coolermaster case.

I am having difficulty with the board.

If I have the case fully assembled and plug in my USB type-c dock, no lights turn on and the power button does not do anything. No fans turn on.

If I remove the top of the case and plug in my USB type-c dock then two red lights turn on. If I press the power button then the fans spin up but I don't get any video output on my screen.

I understand your current situation. Regarding the power light not turning on with the assembled chassis, I suspect the issue might be related to the debug expansion card or the USB-C port not being properly connected to the motherboard. Try reseating the expansion card by removing and reinserting it firmly.

As for the blank screen, it’s likely that the display cable is attached to the wrong port. Connect it to the top-right corner of the motherboard instead. For reference, check step-by-step instructions in the manual here:

I reseated the expansion cards firmly and I plugged the dock into port 1 from that manual (top-right corner) and neither issue was resolved. I still get no signs of life at all if the plastic top is attached to the case, and I get no video on my monitor if I remove the plastic top of the case.

Please try connecting it as I do in the attachment. I've tested this method and it boots up properly without issues.

The motherboard must pass our pre-shipment testing before leaving the factory, and ours passed all checks.
If the video still fails to display after retrying, I'd suggest reflashing the system image.

Okay, fine.

I watched the video you sent, and it is indeed as you described. I saw that after you removed the outer shell, it could start up normally but there was no video display. I still want to confirm whether the monitor's input signal is set to HDMI when connected. Some monitors include both HDMI and analog signals. Since our motherboard only supports HDMI, some screens may not be compatible.

Additionally, after you reassembled the outer shell, pressing the power button had no response. This is because the screws were not fastened properly, which can cause the power button on the case and the motherboard's power switch to become misaligned, preventing normal startup.

Preliminary diagnosis suggests potential hardware failure. Please connect the mainboard to a serial port and capture the boot log for analysis.

Procedure for Capturing Boot Logs:

  1. Connect the serial cable to the USB-C port located at the bottom-right corner of the mainboard.
  2. Launch serial debugging software and configure log-saving settings.
  3. Power on the mainboard – boot diagnostics will automatically transmit over the serial connection.
