da6658e85d (handle_display_prop): Ignore display specs after 
replacing one when string text is being replaced.
(handle_single_display_spec): Pretend as if characters with display
property haven't been consumed only when buffer text is being replaced.

41a633fff6 tex-validate-region: Hack fix installed in trunk. 
I don't want to put it in the release branch, since I don't think the
tex-validate-* functions are very important, and the sexp motion
commands seem to be used quite a bit in tex-mode.
