src/fileio.c (Fset_file_selinux_context, Fset_file_acl): Return t if
file's SELinux context or ACLs successfully set, nil otherwise.
lisp/files.el (backup-buffer-copy, basic-save-buffer-2): If
set-file-extended-attributes fails, fall back on set-file-modes
instead of signaling an error.

set-file-selinux-context and set-file-acl.
doc/lispref/files.texi (File Attributes, Changing Files): Remove the details
about the text returned by file-acl. Instead, just document that
it is an opaque string meant to be used by set-file-acl.
following non-comment text.
(lm-header-multiline): Continuation lines need to be indented more than
the first line.
(lm-homepage): New function.
(lm-with-file): Don't be confused if narrowing is in effect.

provided by libacl on GNU/Linux.

and copy ACL entries of file in addition to SELinux context if
set.

* etc/NEWS: Document changes to file-attributes,
file-ownership-preserved-p.
Mention new functions group-gid, group-real-gid.
* lisp/files.el (backup-buffer): Don't rely on 9th output of
file-attributes, as it's now a placeholder. Instead, use the new
optional arg of file-ownership-preserved-p.
(file-ownership-preserved-p): New optional arg GROUP.
Fix mishandling of setuid directories that would cause this
function to return t when it should have returned nil.
Document what happens if the file does not exist, and when
it's not known whether the ownership will be preserved.
* lisp/net/tramp-sh.el (tramp-sh-handle-file-ownership-preserved-p):
Likewise.
(tramp-get-local-gid): Use group-gid for integer, as that's
faster and more reliable.
* src/dired.c (Ffile_attributes): Return t as the 9th attribute,
to mark it as a placeholder. The old value was often wrong.
The only user of this attribute has been changed to use
file-ownership-preserved-p instead, with its new group arg.
* src/editfns.c (Fgroup_gid, Fgroup_real_gid): New functions.
Fixes: debbugs:13125
Be more systematic about using "@." (not ".") at end of sentence that
ends in a capital letter, and about appending "@:" after non-ends of
sentences that end in a lower case letter followed by "." followed by
whitespace. Omit unnecessary use of "@:" and "@.". Similarly for "?"
and "!". Be more consistent about putting a comma after "i.e." and
"e.g."; this is the typical American style and it's easier to code in
Texinfo.

* window.el (enlarge-window, shrink-window): Don't mention return

file-exists-p, as file-exists-p already does the right thing.
* src/dired.c (directory_files_internal, Ffile_attributes):
New arg follow_symlinks. All uses changed.
src/keyboard.c (timer_check_2): Move calculation of 'timers' and
'idle_timers' from here ...
(timer_check): ... to here. Use Fcopy_sequence to copy the timer
lists, to avoid infloops when the timer does something stupid,
like reinvoke itself with the same or smaller time-out.

(timer-activate-when-idle): Warn against reinvoking an idle timer
from within its own timer action.

the temporary map re-appearing on emulation-mode-map-alists.
* lisp/emacs-lisp/edebug.el (def-edebug-form-spec): Remove, it's been broken
since 22.1.
The porting part of this patch fixes bugs on non-IEEE platforms
with frexp, ldexp, logb.
* admin/CPP-DEFINES (HAVE_CBRT, HAVE_LOGB, logb): Remove.
* configure.ac (logb, cbrt): Do not check for these functions,
as they are not being used.
* doc/lispref/numbers.texi (Float Basics, Arithmetic Operations, Math Functions):
Document that / and mod (with floating point arguments), along
with asin, acos, log, log10, expt and sqrt, return special values
instead of signaling exceptions.
(Float Basics): Document that logb operates on the absolute value
of its argument.
(Math Functions): Document that (log ARG BASE) also returns NaN if
BASE is negative. Document that (expt X Y) returns NaN if X is a
finite negative number and Y a finite non-integer.
* etc/NEWS: Document NaNs versus signaling-error change.
* src/data.c, src/lisp.h (Qdomain_error, Qsingularity_error, Qunderflow_error):
Now static.
* src/floatfns.c: Simplify discussion of functions that Emacs doesn't
support, by removing commented-out code and briefly listing the
C89 functions excluded. The commented-out stuff was confusing
maintenance, e.g., we thought we needed cbrt but it was commented out.
(logb): Remove decl; no longer needed.
(isfinite): New macro, if not already supplied.
(isnan): Don't replace any existing macro.
(Ffrexp, Fldexp): Define even if !HAVE_COPYSIGN, as frexp and ldexp
are present on all C89 platforms.
(Ffrexp): Do not special-case zero, as frexp does the right thing
for that case.
(Flogb): Do not use logb, as it doesn't have the desired meaning
on hosts that use non-base-2 floating point. Instead, stick with
frexp, which is C89 anyway. Do not pass an infinity or a NaN to
frexp, to avoid getting an unspecified result.
* lisp/replace.el (query-replace-map): Bind four new symbols for
requesting window scrolling.
* lisp/subr.el (y-or-n-p): Handle the window-scrolling bindings in
query-replace-map.
