New port: net/3proxy 3[APA3A] tiny proxy 3Proxy (pronounce it as "Zaraza tiny proxy") is really tiny cross-platform (Win32&Unix) proxy servers set. It includes HTTP proxy with HTTPS and FTP support, SOCKSv4/SOCKSv4.5/SOCKSv5 proxy, POP3 proxy, TCP and UDP portmappers. You can use every proxy as a standalone program (socks, proxy, tcppm, udppm, pop3p) or use combined program (3proxy). Add avahi, another mDNS, Zeroconf, Bonjour, Redezvous, etc. implementation ...but with a twist. Avahi is a D-BUS based mDNS solution from Freedesktop.org. Avahi provides Service discovery on a local network -- this means that you can plug your laptop or computer into a network and instantly be able to view other people who you can chat with, find printers to print to or find files being shared. This kind of technology is already found in MacOS X (branded 'Rendezvous', 'Bonjour' and sometimes 'ZeroConf') and is very convenient. Add brutecopy, an application that pushes data using UDP protocol through rotten, overloaded and otherwise disgusting lines. It should work well even on lines on which TCP completely chokes. The transmission is performed at user-preprogrammed fixed data rate with no flow control, only with lost-packet retransmits. Brutalcopy always transfers the file without error, even on erroneous lines. It uses a CRC-32 checksum algorithm together with the checksum in the UDP packets. New port: net/c3270 - to replace net/tn3270 - Full-screen curses-based remote login to IBM mainframes This port is the latest version of IBM 3270 terminal emulators as an open source project that I can find. The net/tn3270 port is dead-dead-dead and will take too much effort to fix on 5.x-6.x-Current. This new port is part of a group and has been separated such that the user can pick & choose what he wants. This particular port is for full-screen text-mode aka console sessions with support for curses, OpenSSL, scripting, and SNA-printer emulation with IBM mainframes. I am unable to test most of the extra functionality. Also I am continuing to investigate some text-mode anomalies that may be highly dependent on the graphics/video card in use. But we do need a working replacement for net/tn3270, and this is 'it'. Before accepting this new port: Firstly, I need someone with legal eyes to look over this project's licensing details at http://x3270.bgp.nu/license.html , please. (I posted this request on -ports@ a few weeks ago to no avail.) If agreeable, the next thing to do is ditch the port net/tn3270 entirely. I'm not sure how to do that myself (and not being able to do CVS thru our political firewall here at work). Thirdly, if agreeable, simply add this new port net/c3270 to the collection, please. Yes it comprises only three little files. ;) Fourthly, people with access to mainframes: Test Test Test Please! :) I don't agree with ditching x3270 though. The performance analysis will be performed by Steady State anaylsis and by simulation. DaNAMiCS will also include support for Inhibitor Arcs. This will allow for priorities to be modelled and will increase the modelling power of Petri Nets to that of Turing Machines. kame-dhcp6 is an open-source implementation of Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv6 (DHCPv6) developed by the KAME project. The implementation mainly conforms to the following standards: - RFC3315: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv6 (DHCPv6) - RFC3319: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCPv6) Options for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Servers - RFC3633: IPv6 Prefix Options for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) - RFC3646: DNS Configuration options for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv6 (DHCPv6) Note that the current implementation does not support IPv6 address allocation by DHCPv6, and there is no plan to implement that feature at the moment. The port distfile contains a copy of the /home/ncvs/src/gnu/libexec/uucp FreeBSD CVS repository (with a few extra commits to make the build more port-friendly), and checks out a copy during the configure phase. Changes to this port should be made by checking them into this internal repository and rerolling the distfile. This port currently uses the same spool directories in /var/spool, and contains a 'make upgrade' target to copy config files from /etc/uucp to ${PREFIX}/etc/uucp. Please test this port for missing/broken functionality. In particular, there might be more we need to do in the 'make upgrade' target.

Please welcome Qt3/KDE3 to our ports tree. This includes work since the original versions of these ports, so some PORTREVISIONs were bumped. See http://freebsd.kde.org/ and mailing lists linked to from there for info on the packages generated to test these ports. bsd.kde.mk has already been updated a few days ago to work with these. Some patches applied to fix a few bugs were: deskutils/kdepim3: [1] Remove kpilot from build because it wasn't ready at release. editors/koffice-kde3: [2] Fix compile time bugs for FreeBSD. misc/kdeedu3: [3] Fix compile problem with kvoctrain. x11/kdebase3: [4] Fix KDM CPU usage and login bug. Some caveats: * All PLISTs are broken for deinstall due to script bug that I didn't notice until very recently. This will be fixed when I commit an update tomorrow. These ports should still install perfectly fine though. They should also deinstall without giving errors, but will leave directories behind. * You can't install this with any other version of QT or KDE already installed. I am not sure the checks are 100% working, but fixes for these will be forthcoming. This is mainly due to a policy decision made by kde@ to make QT/KDE ports install the way the rest of the world expects it to while also still conforming to FreeBSD's hier(7). For reference on this decision, please consult the KDE/FreeBSD mailing list archives. This decision fixes 2-year-old bug reports relating to how we handled this for KDE2 vs KDE1. - add l4ip-v1.0.b294, the L4 health check daemon for IPFILTER. The idea is that IPFilter in its current state can already do a simple L4 round-robin in its NAT rules. However, it does not detect or sense when a service and/or host is down. It will continue to send requests to a downed service/host. However, IPFilter lets us add and remove rules on-the-fly so it should be possible to build a daemon that lets you specify "clusters". In each cluster you would specify its members/hosts and services. As well as a health-check for the service to determine its current state. Once a service was deemed "up" we would add a Round-Robin rule to the NAT table, and naturally, the reverse once we detect a service as being "down". In addition to this, this program can optionally add ipf rules to log for RST (reset) packets coming from the members of your clusters. In the situations where the software/port goes down, but the host itself is still working, we would detect failure instantly. (Since the forwarded connections to the service would trigger a RST packet back). If this option is enabled, l4ip spawns the "ipmon" command to monitor for the "log" entries given when such a packet is detected. l4ip will then mark the service down. This port needs linux_base-8, the default linux_base is v7.1. You should first replace the default linux_base with v8 with portupgrade: portupgrade -o emulators/linux_base-8 emulators/linux_base Then edit /usr/local/etc/pkgtools.conf, add the line emulators/linux_base' => 'emulators/linux_base-8', into "ALT_PKGDEP". This tells portupgrade to depend upon linux_base-8 instead upon linux_base-7.1 (where appropriate). This replacement shouldn't do any harm, I tested icc and the linux version of netscape navigator 4.8 with the new linux_base, and I haven't noticed bad behavior.
