o Upwardly binary compatible with 4.1.2, 4.1.1, 4.1, 4.0.1, 4.0, and 3.x versions.
o Bug fix to FFT multiplication code.
o Bug fix to K6 assembly code for gcd.
o Bug fix to IA-64 assembly code for population count.
o Portability improvements, most notably functional AMD64 support.
o Many minor bug fixes.
o Make portlint happy.
Begin autotools sanitization sequence by requiring ports to explicitly
specify which version of {libtool,autoconf,automake} they need, erasing
the concept of a "system default".
For ports-in-waiting:
USE_LIBTOOL=YES -> USE_LIBTOOL_VER=13
USE_AUTOCONF=YES -> USE_AUTOCONF_VER=213
USE_AUTOMAKE=YES -> USE_AUTOMAKE_VER=14
Ports attempting to use the old style system after June 1st 2004 will be
sorely disappointed.
On Opteron/AMD64 systems with GCC, count_trailing_zeros
in longlong.h may cause errors from the assembler about
incorrect registers used with bsfq.
