c9662caeb7 a) update to version 19991029.
b) fix numerous places where the port did not obey all the ports rules
  eg honour CFLAGS, use FONTSDIR, X11BASE, LOCALBASE and the INSTALL_XXX
  definitions.

ddc8d1b4e7 Remove giflib. Also remove GIF support since the author
mentions "that patent", and the port does PNG anyway.

2ca1fe047a Don't include bsd.port.pre.mk twice. This usually is caused by first
including bsd.port.pre.mk and then later including bsd.port.mk (the
latter of which of course should be bsd.port.post.mk).
