Take over maintainership temporarily upon request from the software's
author(s), who were unable to reach the previous maintainer.
In both:
- use explict --mandir=${PREFIX}/man to avoid man-pages getting
into ${PREFIX}/shared/man incorrectly
- deal with the NOPORTDOCS situation by simply not-extracting
the extra documentation from the distribution tarball
- parallelize the build to scale with the number of CPUs
In vips:
- move the (giant) list of man-pages into a separate Makefile.man
- turn the pages, which contain only `.so other-page', into
MANLINKS (specified in Makefile.man)
- provide a "maintainance target" to regenerate the Makefile.man
during the next upgrade
- do not install the HTML-ized versions of man-pages
- create OPTIONS for use of devel/liboil and graphics/ImageMagick
(OPTION to use PYTHON awaits portmgr's decision/action)
In nip2:
- do install the HTML pages regardless of NOPORTDOCS -- these
are accessible to the user through the application GUI
- arrange for update-mime-database and update-desktop-database
to be run upon install (@exec) and uninstall (@unexec)
- LIB_DEPEND on math/gsl, which nip2 can use for extra functionality
These ports are in need of a dedicated maintainer.

USE_X_PREFIX is not neccesary (these are script-only ports) and it is
removed to reduce build times on clusters.
Ports depending on tkstep80 are very old (~1999), not developed and
unmaintained.

FotoFix is a simple image viewer with simple capabilities to take care
of freshly downloaded photos from your camera - can walk image lists,
rotate images, and remove red eyes (if lucky). It was inspired by
IrfanView for Windows, a great but unfortunately non-portable and
closed-source product.

own clean-up routine (jas_cleanup). The call would be of limited
use anyway, as freeing memory at exit is useful only for tracking
down memory leaks. Removing the atexit call eliminates crashes in
ImageMagick and GraphicsMagick, when they are compiled with modules
support -- when a library is dlclosed, calling its cleanup routine is
certain death...
When compiling with gcc, declare the routine with ``__attribute__
(destructor)'' as per kan's otherwise obnoxious and inflammatory
e-mails. This will make sure, the routine is invoked, when libjasper
is dlclosed(). The only known apps that do that are ImageMagick and
GraphicsMagick (when built with modules support). They both call
the routine explicitly anyway...
While here enable parallel build of jasper itself, and eliminate the
most threatening warnings.
Bump PORTREVISION.
QT_COMPONENTS can now be depended on at runtime or buildtime only by
specifiying them as <component>_build or <component>_run, respectively.
Specifying <component> without any suffix will depend on the component
at both build- and runtime just like before.

The Tesseract OCR engine was one of the top 3 engines in the 1995 UNLV
Accuracy test. Between 1995 and 2006 it had little work done on it, but
it is probably one of the most accurate open source OCR engines
available. The source code will read a binary, grey or color image and
output text.

The primary feature of this release is a rewrite of the scripting engine for
better correctness. The ports are also improved to remove dependencies that
haven't existed since the 0.4 series.
Upstream changes from the prior version of the port include:
- New fractal types including the Spidron hornflake, Sierpinski, Koch
and many others from the fractint formula database.
- New tutorial movies, new examples.
- Improved fonts for large screen sizes.
- Improvements to translations, a romanian translation, and many
bugfixes.
- Build knobs for the port have been trimmed to ease port maintenance.
The one remaining knob, "PTHREADS", switches on experimental
support for multi-cpu machines.
- The port now adopts the system default for CFLAGS and does not
hardcode compiler switches for aggressive optimization.
Move net/rrdtool to databases/rrdtool.
It's an itch which needs to be scratched: net/rrdtool came from
net/mrtg, which was a good location for it. net/mrtg has later
been moved to net-mgmt/mrtg. net/rrdtool is "Round Robin Database
Tools", therefor it's better if it moves to databases/rrdtool.
Same with net/rrdtool10.
